GFRP & Products
An overview of the technology and the product lines. Full technical detail is maintained by the production company.
What is GFRP?
Glass Fibre Reinforced Polymer (GFRP) reinforcement — rebar and mesh — is used in construction and shipbuilding because it does not corrode, is lighter, and offers greater long-term durability than steel.
The group's products are sold under the PROBAR (Professional Rebar) and PROMESH brands.
Product lines
Professional Rebar
PROBAR
GFRP rebar, Ø4–14 mm.
Reinforcing mesh
PROMESH
GFRP reinforcing mesh.
Equipment
Industrial machinery (FRM)
Industrial machinery.
Key advantages
Corrosion-resistant
Does not rust or degrade in saline, humid or chemically aggressive environments; ideal for coastal, marine and industrial use.
Non-conductive
Electrically and magnetically neutral; suited to tunnels, substations and areas near sensitive equipment.
Longer service life
No corrosion means lower maintenance and lifecycle cost over decades.
Lightweight
Up to 5× lighter than steel, cutting transport, labour and installation time.
High mechanical strength
Excellent tensile strength and rigidity.
Eco-friendly
Lower embodied carbon and energy in production; recyclable at end of life as concrete aggregate.
